I admit it: I hate vegetables. OK, hate is a strong word, but I would say that I would much prefer other foods and I have to work fairly hard to eat my veggies. This is why grilling will be important for my health– I find that a lot of vegetables do taste a lot better when brushed with some olive oil (garlic flavored if possible) and then thrown on the grill. Today was a big step in that we had to replace the grill hose that seems to have been punctured possibly in the move cross country. Sometime this week we should be up and running.
In the meantime I will hit a farmer’s market or two to find some good selections. I typically scour said markets for delicious baked goods. But I at least make sure to balance the treat with some fresh produce such as blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, peaches and even pluots. One can hope that a scientific study will prove antioxidants from fresh fruit work to cleanse brownie residue from the arteries, right?
